Day 1 of spring break 2012.

Although fell asleep last night and missed out on dancing, I’m starting the day right!

Clean, crisp air flowing in through the window
Fresh, snow white bed sheets
New, baby lily blooming in my living room
Nice soft rock playing on the radio in my sunny bedroom
Drinking Guatemalan roast infused with rumchata
Reading romantic, poetic lines from an amante
It’s the beginning of the most wonderful spring…

For a Lifetime

It gives me butterflies just thinking about it.
My heart pounds and races every time.
It makes me want to make it better.
My body craves it in its absence.
My mind drowns in it.
My face glows in happiness.
I already know it’s here for good.
It’s for a lifetime.
My body, mind, and soul will dance forever.

La utopía

“La utopía está en el horizonte. Camino dos pasos, ella se aleja dos pasos y el horizonte se corre diez pasos más allá. ¿Entonces para que sirve la utopía? Para eso, sirve para caminar.”

Eduardo Galeano

My inner voice reminders - teaching

1. More praises - praise students and their work more!
2. Be careful of my tone. Teenagers are wicked sensitive.
3. Have one fun and/or meaningful activity that goes beyond/enhances language learning.
4. Gauge students’ level and create level appropriate assessments and assignments. Too challenging is not effective.
5. Personal development - my own dedication to pedagogy and content as well as tapping into workshops.
